Job Description


The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs Aqua Metals' production equipment and machinery, maintains the day to day operations and assumes responsibility for maintaining physical assets. A primary function of the Maintenance Technician position is to ensure maximum operating effectiveness and safety. This role is a critical for the plant management team and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant and facility equipment as well as the direction of the maintenance staff.


  • Ensure that all safety norms and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure that there are no breakdowns or disruption in the production process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all the machinery in the facility.
  • Plan maintenance and service activities in a way that the process of production does not get hampered.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning parts and conduct tests to ensure that repairs are satisfactory
  • Monitor performance of machinery and equipment; adjust and calibrate as needed, ensuring that equipment meets specifications and requirements
  • Periodically perform preventive maintenance, in accordance with prescribed schedules; adjust equipment and reset or calibrate sensors and controls to specs.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment or machinery.
  • Test damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are needed.
  • Responsible for maintenance planning and scheduling of installation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair and modification of equipment to ensure continued efficient and effective plant operations.
  • Ensure that machinery and equipment is being used to full capacity and production is optimum.
  • Keep record of all service, maintenance and refurbishing work carried out on the machinery.
  • Report any observed malfunction to Maintenance Superintendent.


  • Must be self-sufficient and able to work alone safely. Must have problem solving capabilities using training as a resource.
  • Have attitude and aptitude to work independently.
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Good physical conditioning.
  • Good communication skills.
