Aqua Metals Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is tasked with assisting the Production Control Manager in achieving established safety, environmental, quality, shipping and receiving and financial goals on a facility-wide-basis. This position is responsible for ensuring that company standards are achieved and maintained with a targeted emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, documentation and formalized training for employees within the department. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will be required to be a hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead the employees in his/her department.
Take full responsibility of shift in terms of supervising staff, management of shipping and receiving, and ensure a smooth-running operation.
Direct the proper handling of all products received and shipped while ensuring that support systems reflect accurate and timely goods movement.
Directs the scheduling and routing of transportation activities to satisfy inbound and outbound delivery requirements.
Use available system to take steps needed to make sure the Work-In-Progress (WIP) is moved to Finished Goods (FG) as a daily practice
Ensure inventory accuracy of raw materials and Finished Goods(FG)
Manage, develop and motivate direct reports.
Ensure that training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift
Insure plant and equipment is maintained to achieve production requirements and provide a safe and clean work environment.
Work within the role to uphold a high level of leadership in upholding values of compliance and support for the human resources, environment health and safety policies.
Monitor work performance of assigned team members.
Counsel team members as to the importance of proper respirator use, lead decontamination and monitor team members blood lead results to affect overall blood lead reduction goals.
Apply Human Resource policies consistently to all employees.
Educate and direct employees regarding the use of equipment, control points and resources.
Ensure that operators are being trained in accordance with work instructions
Utilize problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure that team members can identify root causes and take fast, effective action to resolve problems.
Maintain housekeeping standards to keep a clean and safe workplace.
Work closely with other shift supervisors to ensure effective communication.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
3+ years-experience of managing and leading employees in a shipping and receiving environment.
Knowledge and expertise in distribution operations. Broad knowledge of material handling.
Ability to drive and provide instruction on Power Industrial Equipment (various motorized material handling equipment)
Basic computer knowledge in Windows environment.
Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills preferred.
